Who should take this eCourse?
 

LEAP Lab has been designed specifically for individuals who are inside large companies and want to challenge the status quo, drive massive results, get promoted faster and create successful new products. This includes product people - engineers, product managers, user experience design professionals, etc. - but also HR and back office support individuals who provide services to internal employees.


 
What will I take away from LEAP Lab?

The primary objective of the course is for participants to make real progress on a new business idea or an internal organizational issue. By the end of the course, you will have market evidence that tells you whether you should continue investment in the idea. In terms of skill development, you will understand what design thinking and lean startup are all about and how to apply it to real business issues. Key learning objectives include:

How long will this take me to go through?

The eCourse is laid out as a 6-week program but is 100% self-paced. So in reality, you are able to go through the content and complete the real-world exercises as fast or as slow as you'd like.


 
Should I take the LEAP Lab as an individual or with my team?

We recommend you form a team of up to 5 people. A team is the most effective way to bring a new idea to market, but there's nothing stopping an individual from doing so.

Meet the instructors and receive an overview on how to navigate the course. Gain a full understanding of lean intrapreneurs, Sustaining vs Disruptive innovation (and why disruptive innovators are so crucial) and how to best utilize the Call A Coach function.
WEEK 1
INTRODUCTION
Discover how Lean Startup and Lean Innovation can work to your advantage and then slide into a Business Model Progression overview. You will also organize your team and begin talking about the problems you are hoping to address.
WEEK 2
LEAN INNOVATION - TRANSFORMATION STARTS HERE
Understand what customer empathy is and how to collect customer input. After this unit you will know how to use these two factors to learn about the product you are creating with the help of our Customer Empathy Tools.
WEEK 3
CUSTOMER EMPATHY
First identify your customer segment with our Segmentation Matrix Activity. Then we'll share our time-tested Moves the Needle interview tips so that you can craft and flip the conversation during customer interviews to get real feedback.
WEEK 4
ZOOM-IN ON YOUR CUSTOMER
Identify customer problems from interview results to determine a solution like a pro. Debrief about interview results (was your problem assumption correct?) and revisit Customer Zoom (do you have the right customer?). Mismatched data? No problem - we'll help you determine the best solution!
WEEK 5
ZOOM-IN ON THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
Understand the importance of rapid experimentation and how to convert assumptions into experiments. We'll write out as many assumptions as possible and then decide which one is the riskiest. Then you're ready to design and implement your first experiment.
